I took my agility markers and lap top to the gym to do day 1 of shift shop. I woke up at 7 today so no time to do this at home this morning. I gave myself some grace because I’ve been going non stop for a few days straight when I was in New Orleans for Coach Summit! Love how you can stream your workouts anywhere!
But even more important than working out is good nutrition! I used to be a workout “snob” and thought that working out from home would not give me results. FALSE!!! I’ve had better results after having 2 babies because of my NUTRITION!!! And before kids I used to train for triathlons, just saying! Several of my triathlon friends have been pleasantly surprised by Beachbody workouts. 80% of our results is nutrition and only 20% is from working out!
I started Shift Shop Monday (after coming home from New Orleans Saturday night). I’ve been so excited about trying this program because people having been getting amazing results because of the nutrition plan. There’s a group of us doing this program and we are keeping each other accountable. It’s all about accountability, right?
There are 2 rounds each 3 weeks long. On Tuesday, as I was carrying Isabelle up the stairs Β I felt pain in my lower back. I took a rest day on Wednesday and have been able to modify my workouts if I feel pain. Things don’t always go as planed but that’s, ok. I’ve been following my meal plan (which is so simple because they supply it for you π I’ll be praying my back feels heals quickly.
This journey that started 2 years ago began just because I wanted to lose the last 10 lbs. after having my girls and to feel “like myself again”. It’s *so* much more now because it’s not just about me, it’s about helping others and seeing how this changes their life too!
I realized that I needed to heal and God used this opportunity to help others and heal me at the same time. Little by little, day by day. I’m so glad I listened to His promptings to “Coach” and help other people. Thank you Lord for healing! It’s amazing how He can change your life and how He changes us from the inside out!!!

We went away for a night at the National Harbor and did our Shift Shop workout “Strength” in the morning. It was the first time we did a workout together in a long time! He was sweating like crazy! I just asked him to do the workout with me in the morning and said, “sure” even though he didn’t pack the right shoes. π Β Thanks for being a great sport, sweetie! Overall I enjoyed this week. I’ll admit it was challenging to start right after traveling but I was excited and that excitement kept me going. We were also away for one night for our anniversary which can challenging to stay on track while traveling. It’s never the “perfect time” to start anything but we just have to go for it! I’ll be adjusting my carb/yellow container this week for during the day and not for dinner like the meal plan suggests for this week. I am more hungry during the day so I’ll make sure to have more food during the day and a smaller dinner. It’s good to modify/adjust as needed for yourself. π
